Amy O. Woodbury |
A graduate of the University of Utah's Modern Dance Department, I paint fantasy figures and imaginary expanses of water and land. Now and then an abstract will happen. What motivates me? Movement, space, texture, randomness, color, my intuition. I work with any combination of acrylic paint, oil pastel, pencil and collage. Application is also varied: in addition to a brush, I'll use a rag or putty knife. For deconstructing, there's my garden hose to strip away sections of paint, a square of sandpaper to reveal what's underneath. My work may be viewed at the Burr Trail Outpost through October and at the Boulder Community Center Gallery through August 7th. Thanks for looking.
